Emotional Emancipation Circles for Black Men.
Emotional Emancipation Circles (EECs) are culturally grounded healing spaces designed to help people of African ancestry heal from the trauma of anti-Black racism and the false narrative of Black inferiority which significantly impacts our emotional, psychological, spiritual, social, and financial wellbeing. EECs aim to empower participants to reclaim their emotional well-being, strengthen resilience, and cultivate joy and self-determination. EECs are rooted in African-centered psychology and community-defined evidence practices, emphasizing cultural congruency and collective healing rather than traditional Western problem-focused models.
In addition to the 8 EECs sessions the program includes:
a social outing to build brotherhood,
a 2 day wellness retreat,
a podcast featuring Black barbers for the healing they do from behind the chair
access to Sekhem's digital health platform, the Wellness Vault, that provides
holistic health education
African Ancestral wisdom and healing modalities
mental health resources
somatic therapy activities (Kemetic Yoga, Sound Healing, Meditation, Breathwork, and more)
We are hosting 4 cohorts over the next year. Cohort 2 starts Oct 11, 2026. We will host 2 cohorts in spring and summer of 2027.
This program is open to all African American men, with priority given to Black Barbers and any men that has been involved in the justice system.

W.O.W.™ Coaching — Wisdom Obtaining Wellness
What would your life look like if you had the clarity, support and accountability to intentionally move toward what matters most to you?
W.O.W.™ Coaching is Sekhem Institute's whole-person wellness coaching experience, designed to help you explore what you want, identify where you are ready for change, and create meaningful action toward the life you envision.
Unlike coaching programs that begin by telling you what area of your life you need to fix, W.O.W. starts with you. Using Sekhem's 9 Domains of Wellness and the proprietary M.I.N.D.S.E.T.™ Framework, you and your coach explore the areas of life that matter most to you. Your focus might be your health, relationships, career, finances, emotional wellness, purpose, personal growth—or something entirely different.
And your goals are allowed to evolve.
Through personalized 30- or 60-minute coaching sessions, you'll have a supportive space to gain clarity, explore strengths and barriers, challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck, strengthen confidence, establish meaningful goals, create realistic action steps and develop accountability strategies that work for your life.
W.O.W. Coaching isn't about your coach deciding what success should look like for you.
You choose the destination. We help you develop the M.I.N.D.S.E.T.™ to get there.
Whether you're ready to make a change, navigating a transition, working toward a personal goal, seeking greater balance, or simply asking yourself “What's next for me?”, W.O.W. Coaching gives you space to explore the answer—and support to begin moving toward it.
A clearer mind. A healthier you. A brighter tomorrow.
